Dr Robert Stewart, MD is a practising general practitioner in a rural practice in Kent, recognised for innovative working and quality care.
In his role as Clinical Design Director (White Gate Design) he is working with Kent County Council (the Local Authority) to facilitate sustainable NHS and Social Care, bringing strong clinical leadership internally and externally.
As the chair of the Kent Integration Pioneer Steering Group (a working group of the Kent Health and Wellbeing Board), he is working across Kent bringing together commissioners of health and social care, providers of health and social care, districts, public health with the citizen at the centre. Kent is one of only 14 nationally recognised pioneers of health and social care integration sites, working boldly to integrate care across all organisations for the 1.5 million citizens of Kent.
Robert has a keen interest in using the “technology revolution” to be a driver for new ways of working and improving communication.He has established the Kent Innovation Hub in association with the Swedish Innovation Pioneers to link locally, nationally and internationally to other partners to promote innovation.
He brings strong clinical leadership to various EU programs including CASA and the B3 Action Group and is also a director of the Health and Europe Centre.
He is the Chair of the SELKaM Major trauma network with Kings College Hospital London as the Major Trauma Centre.
He was previously the Medical Director for Clinical Commissioning and Strategic Change for NHS Kent and Medway.
