Founded in 1987, HL7 International is a not-for-profit standards developing organization (SDO), founding member of the JIC for Global SDO Health Informatics Standardization.
HL7 provides globally used interoperability standards that improve care delivery, optimize workflow, reduce ambiguity, and enhance knowledge transfer among healthcare providers, government agencies, vendors, SDOs, and patients. HL7 with 35+ national affiliates (17 European), numbers ~4,000+ members, 55 countries (>90% health IT vendors).
