Dr Iiro Eerola is a Scientific Project Officer in the European Commission, DG Research and Innovation, Directorate for Health in the Unit for Innovative and Personalised Medicine.
He joined the Commission in 2004 and has been working on Rare Diseases since February 2012. He holds M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Turku, Finland. He has done also an MBA at the United Business Institutes, in Brussels, Belgium.
Before joining the Commission he has worked in the Academy of Finland, in the Christian Duve Institute of Cellular Pathology & Université Catholique de Louvain, Brussels, Belgium and at the University of Turku, Finland.
