Dr Carriazo holds that post since April 2012, when the former Regional Ministries of Health and Social Welfare merged into the current one. She has been in charge of the same responsibility in the field of health since June 2008.
Previously, she joined the Cabinet of the Regional Minister of Health of Andalusia, in March 2007. Before, she had worked at the Andalusian Health Service for more than 19 years, with different responsibilities (health information systems, healthcare basket of services among others).
She has collaborated at the Department of Preventive Medicine /Social and Health Sciences, of the University of Seville, and has published both at the national and international level.
She got her degree in Medicine and her PhD in Public Health at the University of Seville (1986 and 1997). She also holds a Degree in Statistics of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2001). She is specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health (2003).
