Milan Cabrnoch, MD, Member of the European Parliament (born 6.8.1962). He is Doctor of Medicine, pediatrician, graduated 1986 Charles University Prague. 1994-1997 he worked as Director of Health insurance Department of Ministry of Health and in 1998 as Deputy Minister of Health for Health Insurance and Legislative area.
As a member of the Czech Parliament (1998-2004) Milan Cabrnoch worked as vice-chairman of the Committee for social policy and healthcare. From 2004 Milan Cabrnoch is Member of the European Parliament and work in the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs. Since 2009 he is also member of the committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and chairman of the Parliamentary Cooperation Committees to the Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Milan Cabrnoch is for a long time and constantly engaged in the field of the health systems and health care organization. He is a co-author of the Health Concept of the Civic Democratic Party.
Presently he pursues mainly the patients’ awareness and eHealth. The IZIP project (electronic record health system) that’s co-author Milan Cabrnoch is won World Summit Award 2005 as the best eHealth project. He is founder and chairman of the Czech National eHealth Forum. Also he is active in social affairs mainly in the disability and seniors sectors.
