Mr Brian O’Connor, Chair of the European Connected Health Alliance defined the Connected Health Ecosystem, which brings together all the necessary parties to deploy at scale connected health services efficiently and safely and to the creation of an International Network of Ecosystems.

Representing the Hellenic Ministry of Health, Mina Boubaki, IT Department, Ministry of Health eHealth Network, eHealth Forum 2014, presented the “Priorities of the Greek eHealth ecosystem”. She briefly described it as a sustainable ecosystem that creates a permanent mutually beneficial partnership to improve the delivery of health and social care and provide economic benefits.

Dr Cristina Pascual, National Contact Point for HORIZON 2020, spoke on the programme “Horizon 2020: Research & Innovation in the HEALTH sector”, the new European Programme for funding Research & Innovation for the period 2014-2020, with a budget of 79.4 billion euros with priority on science, industrial leadership and societal challenges.

“21st Century HealthCare: Practical Considerations for Greece” was the title of Ted Tsoukas’, Senior IT Expert GIZ GR, presentation. The vision of GIZ comprises a clearly identified & personal approach of the citizen, hospitals that can “forecast” needed services and respond on time and a government that can effectively allocate resources responding to population indicators.

In the Greek eHealth Ecosystem Meeting, Jens Rahbek Nørgaard, Senior Consultant of Medcom, presented Denmark’s “E-Record – access to all Public Health Records” and analysed the extended Danish digital infrastructure.

Mats Larson of Bilthong AB, Sweden, proposed his views on the “Greek eHealth version 2,0”; he referred to the mistakes of other European countries that implemented eHealth systems; proposed a governance model for Greek eHealth, and analysed the national plan for prioritized eHealth services.
